WELCOME TO THE ABERNETHY RACING TEAM WEBSITE
HOME OF THE 16c SUPER SALOON & 61c STOCKCAR
It all began in Kaikoura 1977, when Stuart, his brother Mark and friend Doug purchased a Stockcar for $300. They all took turns at racing her at the Kaikoura track for about a year until she gave up the ghost and blew up!. Being as the boys had no spare money or expertise to fix it they all gave up.

23 years later, having moved to Rangiora, Stuart brought a Mk4 Ford Cortina to race in the Hobby grade at Oxford Speedway. After six months it was too slow for him, so wanting something faster he upgraded to a Holden Commodore to race at Woodford Glen. This meant Ben could have a crack in the Cortina.
Stuart raced the Commodore in the 2002/2003 season, while at the time the boys built a Mazda 323 Hobby grade car to get Cory behind the wheel as well!
Both Ben and Cory had many a great battle against each other on the track.
Next were the Nissan Primera's, both Stuart and Ben raced these at the Glen. Stuart then tried his hand at Streetstocks for a season, purchasing the ex Don Garthley 1NZ Valiant Charger, leaving the drivers door open for Cory to move into one of the Primera's.
Ben then went into A-Grade Saloons for two seasons, and then moved onto the Supers.
Cory recently purchased the Stockcar to race at Woodford Glen for the 2008/09 season.
Stuart retired from racing in 2006 to become chief pitcrew, bus driver and sponsor, leaving the boys to do battle on the track.
